Mason wasp (<em>Ancistrocerus</em>)
28-OCT-2010 Christine Hanrahan

Mason wasp (Ancistrocerus)

A few goldenrod were still blooming and served as magnets for a variety of insects still out and about in this mild weather (+15 today but getting very cold over the next few day). This mason wasp was not terribly active and may have been at the end of its days, yet it was still gamely trying to nectar.
