"A Taste of Honey", Honey bee (Apis mellifera)

From the 1963 album "Please, Please Me". The song was not written by any of the Beatles.

This honey bee has a heavy load of pollen on each leg! It was very busy on this Queen Anne's Lace flower and ignored me as I took some photos. It was just starting to rain hence the droplets on the wings and elsewhere.

It's got major pollen on his legs. He'll have to return to the hive soon as he will be too heavy to fly! Excellent macro!!!!!!! V

That is quite a load of pollen this honey bee has! Imagine how many flower visits it took to amass all that! I wonder if the pollen came from Queen Anne's Lace or if the bee was just collecting nectar after having raided a different flower for pollen?
