Album 3: A Walk around Auckland's Devonport (22 pictures)
Devonport is a very respectable Auckland suburb easy to find by ferry. Not by road. The ambiguity of road signs on the way here must be a part of a deliberate ploy to stop Australians getting past Takapuna. I drove through Takapuna twice in anticlockwise circles before I understood the fine distinction between straight ahead and veer right. On the basis of information and advice in the Lonely Planet book, we had chosen a B&B in Devonport for a two-night stay. A good choice. There is good food here, good bookshops, lovely old weatherboard houses, views and seagulls. Altogether a very pleasant place for walking around.
