There are pictures of pelicans all over my galleries; originally I copied them into this gallery so I can look at all the pelican pictures together. And to make some sort of point in favour of pelicans. Note that these are Australian pelicans; I understand that there are other species of pelican in other parts of the world, but they are apparently smaller and darker. Generally less attractive birds and presumably less intelligent.

But having started this, I had to go looking for pelicans. The pair I found at Long Reef, who agreed to pose especially for this gallery (the first five pictures here) made an encouraging start, and I've been on the lookout for pelicans ever since.
