2005 Outback Trip (9 albums)

This was a 6800-Km trip with Frances, towing a new camper-trailer. Carnarvon Gorge was the highlight of the trip, and the bait to induce Frances to accompany me. But we visited many other new places, as well as some I had been to in my previous trip. Some of the lessons learned: (1) Our country is huge and varied. (2) Rain, or its absence, changes the landscape drastically. (3) The outback roads are better than we expected, at least when they are not wet. (4) There are a lot of kangaroos killed on these roads. (5) Caravan parks are good value. (6) Don't use ordinary garden hose to fill your water tank. (7) Because towing a trailer increases fuel consumption, you could easily run out of fuel on some legs of this trip if you didn't know. (8) I want to go again.
My first outback trip (a year earlier) is documented here: http://www.pbase.com/lambsfeathers/outback_1
