West of Weddin Mountains, the landscape flattens, becomes drier. On this "first outback trip", in need of warmth and a shower, I was easily seduced by the hand-written sign outside the empty office of the Hillston Motel: "If you are looking for a room, choose one with a key in the door." And the local pub provided a great meal too. And in the next two days ......
