Innamincka was the farthest point from home reached on this trip.
The track on to Coongie Lakes (my planned destination) was closed.

September 2005: A short return visit. With Frances and a camper trailer.
Much drier, more flies, more people (the start of Queensland school holidays).

Lovely pics, good to see pictures of home. I am a Yandruwandha man and descendant of the aboriginal people who kept John King alive. He fathered a child (a daughter) to one of the native Yandruwandha women, I am descended from her. Another descendant is my cousin, current junior Ranger for National Parks S.A. 2014, her name is Katheryn. You, I and John King have all seen the ancient carvings of Callyamurra which we Yandruwandha call Kalyumarru and we call Cooper Creek "kinipapa". Thanks for sharing your l
