16: Gougane Barra

My only real disappointment in our Ireland tour. From the pictures I had seen, I expected a quiet secluded peaceful spot with a simple old chapel, away from the hordes of tourists. I even had a picture like this as the desktop image on my home computer. But there is a large hotel, with a car park almost to the water's edge, with noisy children, signs telling you to shut the gate and the chapel is modern. And it was cold and raining. We did not stay long. Click on one of the thumbnail pictures for a bigger view.
