The landing is on a beach with sand of an unusual dark colour. The official description says it is green, but that must be because there is no word for that colour, not even in Spanish. There is a lagoon behind the beach where we were told we might see flamingos. The guide was quite apologetic about the absence of flamingos, but we saw a pelican in the distance. A gravel path leads past the lagoon across an isthmus to another beach with real waves and sand of the right colour and texture for walking on in bare feet. Birds too.
