What a great find, Laine! Very interesting rules, good they are forgotten (especially that about marriage and feminist movements) :)

Seen this a few times and get a chuckle each time. Nice.

Truly a gem ...... I'll be sending a copy of this to several teachers I know. They will love it! Thanks so much for sharing!
Graeme28-Oct-2013 23:07
This is a wonderful find Laine and thankfully those rules don't still apply today! LOL..

I guess beer and wine were ok then, as was the relentless beating of the children. A great find for the challenge Laine.

Back in the "no exposed ankles" days :-)
Carol Rollins28-Oct-2013 13:09
Wow. Great find and shot, Laine.
Janice Dunn28-Oct-2013 08:12
I'm in full agreement with this. Bloomers for cycling is really bad!!
Ann...28-Oct-2013 07:46
What?! No bloomers, no 10" bustle extension?? What was wrong with these people, did they have no passion? ;)
It's a great find Laine and has given us all a smile or two. V

rigorous message for the female teachers, so much in contradiction with the fact that Queensland was quite advanced in giving women rights to own property and voting rights
woody3428-Oct-2013 05:08
Great find...more restrictions on the teachers than the pupils??
Marriage was seen as unseemly behaviour!! Just compare the dress code with the teachers today!!! :-)...V

Women teachers had to ask permission to wed & then had to resign as recent as the
1950's - Dick could tell you more, I'm now getting a lecture about the list!
marie-jose wolff27-Oct-2013 23:22
stringent rules of conduct, great find! V
Faye White27-Oct-2013 23:21
Amazing how things have changed!
Karen Stuebing27-Oct-2013 23:16
What a collection. It seems so strange to read today. Marriage was unseemly behavior for teachers? Great find and capture.

A fascinating find, and an amazing list.
How times and standards have changed - for the better!
wernere0127-Oct-2013 23:05
My favourite rule: Marriage or other unseemly behavior... must be a joke?! Well, and no punks allowed, as far as I can see. Incredible find!
Ray :)27-Oct-2013 22:38
You know us Brits still can't quite tolerate the exposed ankles thing - socks and sandals rule OK!
Phillip Normanton27-Oct-2013 22:19
Intrigued by checking outhouses and old newspapers!
Johnny JAG27-Oct-2013 22:18
Marriage or unseemly behaviour, aren't they the same ;-)
Mairéad27-Oct-2013 22:09
