Anzac Day 2012

I love this day better than any other. It is the day we remember our fallen
in all the wars our men and women have fought in many countries throughout the world.

This morning at 4.28am our family gathered at the dawn service then later at the march and service in our little country town. This year my almost 90 yr old Dad who is a WW11 Veteran joined us to say...

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Trying to work out your location, there some very beautiful memorials right through out Australia. This is a lovely evocative image.

Wonderful and touching. My mom is a WWII veteran too. She was one of the very first women to join the US Navy. Dad is a Veteran of the Korean war. I'm thankful for their service... all of them. Thank your Dad for me.

Those words never fail to bring a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes - as it should be!
