Sorry, but I think that is a Bonthrochilus (Leiopython) méridionalis (called too horserae). This subspecie is blue and the albertisii is brown or gold.

Hey Markus,

thanks for taking that picture. Actually, this is the first confirmed report of White-lipped pythons on Normanby Isl. Their were said to occur on that island by McDowell (1975) but it turned out to be an errornous record, since McDowell put Bara Bara (mainland in the Morobe Prov.) to the Normanby Island. He said the northern form (Leiopython albertisii) would occur at this locality. The picture definitly shows the southern form, which is a separate species. I do have records from the Milne Bay Prov. from around Alotau. Cheers, Wulf
