Fifty three of the fifty four Titan II missile silos that once waited for nuclear war during the Cold War
have been dismantled. This facility, site 571-7, remains and as been preserved as a National Historic
Landmark. The 9 Megaton thermonuclear warhead has been removed and the silo door blocked in the
half-open position to prevent launch. The support equipment, from generators, to fuel stands, and even
the dishes in the crew's kitchen area, has been preserved as well and is on display. It is a unique glimpse
into a tense time in history.

When viewing these images, keep an eye out for springs. Everything is on springs. This is to minimize motion
when the missile launches. It is also to minimize motion and damage should the site come under nuclear attack.
