Luang Prabang

This small city was formerly the capital of Laos when it was a Kingdom. After the revolution in 1975, the communist government moved the capital to Vientiane. Luang Prabang is a World Heritage listed city for the high quality and well preserved nature of the French Colonial buildings and significant Buddhist temples. An extensive night market and food based morning market are full of character and interest. If you plan to visit Laos, do not miss this jewel.
