The lake of Banyoles is situated beside the small city of almost 20.000 inhabitants with the same name. One of the largest lakes of the Iberian Peninsula and with depths up to 130m. in some point, it has to withstand a constant human action since they established there. During many years this lake wasn’t much more then a dump and human being exploited its resources regardless of it's natural variety. Now, after a few years, the Cityhall of Banyoles together with national and European founds is working to recuperate the lake as a natural environment. The photos I show in this gallery were asked for the same Cityhall to document some of the different species of plants and animals that live in and around the lake. Most of them are simply done as a documentation statement but in any case, I think that many times nature is beautiful just for it's self though in some picture or other I tried to compose or shoot in ways that wold make it a bit more personal.
