These images were taken from behind the leaf, with sunlight in front. This maximizes flourescent light from the leaf and allows minimal post-processing.

Four of these images were chosen for an exhibition on Art and Science, as part of the Philadelphia Science Festival in April, 2011. The pictures were on display during the entire month at The Trust, at 3rd and Arch Streets in Philadelphia. The opening was on April 1, a First Friday. On the first Friday of the spring and summer months, galleries in the Old City part of Philadelphia are open well into the night and people wander from gallery to gallery and view the art. Our opening was sponsored by a National Science Foundation grant and various companies and Universities, and we had food, music, and free beer. It was a lot of fun.
