Cocoon Nebula (Cropped)

4000 light years away, in the constellation Cygnus, lies a reflection/emission nebula called the Cocoon Nebula. It appears at the end of a very long dark, snakelike nebula, B168. This is seen running down towards the Cocoon from the upper left corner. The Cocoon surrounds the open star cluster, IC5146. On close inspection, 4 small spiral galaxies can be seen in the lower right quadrant of the image.
