October - First, north of Harpers Ferry and towards Shepherdstown. I went looking for the Fall colors and did not find any. The next weekend I explored a new section from south of Little Pool to Hancock. I did not find the fall colors this time either. I went to Shepherdstown during the last weekend of the month. The Fall is not very colorful along the towpath. The trees have thinned out, the trail is covered with dry leaves, but what foliage remains is still green.
November - First, a trip from Point of Rocks to Brunswick. Then at Angler's Inn the next Saturday. Then the day after that between Pennyfield Lock and Great Falls. The final trip was to Whites Ferry and Edwards ferry. It is clear that winter is on its way!
December - I ran from Riley's lock on a cold overcast morning with the temperature in the 40s and a light rain falling steadily. I felt great! It was a cold and rainy day the next Sunday. I ended up going to the top of the Cliff at Blockhouse Point, taking the trail through the park from route 28. I did a lot of driving after that.
