I am a descendant of Mitchell Clay. My grandfather's name was Edward Clay Jr. He passed away last October 2013. I'll always remember his stories of the "Clay Massacre" and how strong it made our ancestors. It is of course very interesting to come across this site to see there is a place like this.. Somewhat a remembrance of what happened. I live near Michigan now with my family, but if we were ever to make a trip in that direction, I would be very interested to visit.

I am a descendant of Mitchell and Phoebe Clay. They lost three children in a horrific way while living on this land. Those children are (or were) buried there. It would be my hope that the rusty old equipment be torn down and trashed or recycled and a prayer said for all those that have died there. This is a beautiful place. Wouldn't it be the right thing to do to give it back to nature and leave it in peace.

I was with the little boy that drowned in 1966. His name was Richard Talley and we went to Glenwood School. We both lived on New Hope Road at that time. People talk about his death being mysterious but really he just hit his head on the concrete. He was bobbing up and down under the water and did not come up the last time. We were rushed out and I did not know what had happened until later that evening. I remember me and my mom going to see his mom after the accident. It was so sad. That was the first person I had known to die and the first funeral I had ever attended. He was a very shy little boy with few friends. He had no siblings to my knowledge. I wish I knew what happened to his family after that. If anyone know, I would like to know too. My family used to go to Lake Shawnee all the time to swim. A lot of good and sad memories. Any info helpful.

My aunt and I were hoping to come down this Saturday, September 21, 2013. We are not with any group or anything, we are just interested in this type of thing. Would it be possible for us to stop in? Please let me know, we will be traveling from PA. :)

My name is Amy Buchanan and I am a member of the Giles Paranormal Society. We have heard wonderful things about Lake Shawnee. We were wondering if it would be possible for us to come out to investigate it.We would love the to see what kind of evidence we can get. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.

Thank you so much,
Amy

S. D. Blankenship Author, singer, Philosopher. I live about 20 minutes from the site, and I must say, I have never heard of it until I was home writing my 6th novel while watching Ghost on the Travel Channel. It has intrigued me, and I would love to see the Gothic/vantage rides. Might even see some spirits... even if I don't it would make one kick-ass sci-fi book. I am related to the Tsalagi around West Virginia, so hopefully being a Tsalagi God will help my chances on talking to the spirits.

Hi, I'm just starting my own paranormal investigations, and am also working on a team. I am looking for haunted places to investigate, and I would love to do one here. I believe there may be some activity here, but I cannot say for sure unless I was to go to investigate, but it looks promising, and I have heard great stories about it. This places looks great, and just to visit such a site for historical reasons!

I think this is great, myself. I don't believe in ghosts but a haunted amusement park would be cool to visit.
