Brilliant, we agree about the story you can read into this. The covered hoppers could be anything BUT coal. BUT, coal is king in this area.

Rust, stones, trees, train, a fine old house, and the flag; what more could you ask? Splendid image, Karen!
Best to you,
Dick:)

Well...this is an anthropological study if ever there was one!!

There is so much to see and ponder in this wonderful composition.

We are losing our infrastructure.
Breland09-Jul-2006 14:12
A lot of things to see in this picture Karen. Terrific shot.

The contrast of the wonderful green trees and the flag with the buildings and train is striking. I love that rock wall, though.

What an excellent composition & combination of all things, including the flag.

I love these 'industry next to nature' shots, and they don't get much better than this. I wished I lived the other side of the tracks! LOL

Very well composed and great shot.

a glimpse into an area unknown.... looks like the place has been around for a long time

I wonder what they are carrying in those train cars.

Nice shot, Karen. I especially like how you captured the flag...and then the Princeton Ave. sign on the left. That building always intrigued me as a child :)
Sheila08-Jul-2006 12:38
How clever of JD to think of that :-)
Nice depth here Karen. Good views right through.
QUERIDO08-Jul-2006 12:24
nice shot!
Beverly Wickersham08-Jul-2006 12:20
NIce shot. I like the texture of the stone wall, and the nice composition with the tall building on the
left, and the flag on the right.
Guest 08-Jul-2006 11:07
I guess you are looking toward the east, so we have all four direction on the image. Very well composed.
