The Monster Camera

West Virginia

Polaroid CU-5 with two 88-7multipliers and 2x frame. This set up will give a 2X life size macro.

I put the lighter in the left hand part of the frame for size perspective.

From back to front. Polaroid pack film back, first multiplier, second multiplier, lens and frame. Under it is the handle for holding it and shutter trigger.

For those who don't know anything about this camera, the multipliers are similar to extension tubes and increase the macro capacity. You use the frame with has a small cut out in the front to frame and focus the subject. There is no viewfinder. There is a ring flash in the lens unit.

The handle can be moved to any of the units for more stability. It just worked where it is for the photo. The trigger is the shutter button.

The camera lens, in this case a 75mm, has apertures of 3.5 to 45 and shutter speeds from bulb mode to 1/125. Each unit also has a tripod socket.

This camera was originally made and used for dental and forensic photography.

Element is Lines.

Other elements can be seen here.

Pentax K10D
1/15s f/4.0 at 26.9mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
