I have'nt been to Greencastle to see my family buried there for quite a few years. It sure looks a lot nicer and kept up now. That makes me happy to see that. This has always been a beautiful place to go see. I will see it again someday. I love and miss you Uncle Robert and Aunt Deborah.

I have some family that's buried at Greencastle. My Uncle only has a rock that was placed at the head of the grave by my father and my Aunt was only days old when she was buried there. I would love to have pictures of their grave site. I haven't been there since 2000 but I plan on making a trip back down next spring.

My mother was born and raised in Green Castle on Paint Creek. Alot of the land is still owned by the Parcell family. Some family are buried in that cemetery.

WOW, This is a good site. I know exactly where Greencastle Cemetery is. I have been going there for at least 15 years. I have missed the last few but plan on going on June the 6th of this year. I have some pictures of some markers that was made here at my house in Cambridge, OH. I will have to get them out and see how to submit them. OK, need to get looking over this site some more. I am into genealogy too. Betty of Guernsey CO. OH

I do photo shoots of different type of Head Stones and Mausoleums. Seems others have the same interest and they said I did it because I was bi-polar. MMM. Thank you for the site.

I found a web page some time ago listing names of people buried in the Wiley Bowers cemetery (near Mullens W.Va ) .The address has disappeared from my records. Can anybody help ? thanks

Karen, I love your photography of West Virginia. You have really captured the reality of life in Appalachia, and the beauty of it to. When I got to the cemetary photos I had to comment because I love cemetaries and because our church cemetary is quite like the one in these photos. We have a great many children, whole families of them, who died between 1900 and 1920. My guess would be smallpox. If you ever come to Northwest Georgia, you should come and photograph at our church.

I think these photos are very interesting as I am into genealogy, but was wondering why the name of the cemeteries isn't on the picture? I know of a very old cemetery, we were just there May 30th. It is in WV on Paint Creek and the name is Green Castle. It is set back in the woods. Keep up the good work.
