St. Janshuismolen Windmill

Brugges

Bruges' city walls were dotted with windmills from the late 13th century, when the outer defences were completed, until the 19th century. St Janshuis' mill, which dates from 1770, is the only one to survive in its original position.
The St. Janshuismolen windmill is the last surviving working windmill in Bruges, Belgium.
There were originally 25 of these windmills all across Bruges, but now only 4 remain along the canal on the north-east side of the city.
