I have another bottle that looks like a lovely lavendar but photographs as a deep blue. This one looks pretty much the same in the photo as in reality. - Warren

Was the bottle REALLY purple or... :-)

No, I would agree, that the v*ase is relatively harder than the p*otato. It's probably the story of the most successful marriages. ;-) --Kim

I think its the soft potato and the hard bottle that works the best for this theme. Both great shots. Regards Paul

The v*ase* came with a c*ork*, which to the best of my knowledge is more typical of bottles than v*ase*s. It came from an "antique" store, meaning that they sell items that are allegedly more than 10 years old. I would guess that a similar item from Ann Summers would be much more expensive than the US$4.50 I paid. But, alas, Ann Summers would be illegal where I live. - Warren

Well, the potato seems softer than the v*ase*, but not quite as bendy as a Salvador Dali timepiece! The v*ase* is reminiscent of something Ann Summers-ish though! --Kim

The potato is very old and VERY soft. The bottle is propping up the potato because the potato is too soft to prop the bottle up very effectively. If you require a more symbolic explanation, refer to Flick or Pepe. - Warren

Hmmm..I see the contrast between one being hard and one soft...but which is which? And why is one propping the other up?

ROFL! i just got the joke about Lambeth council.
Flick.

Blimey, and I thought it was a bendy potato. I need retraining by Lambeth council - Quentin

Bendy potato? Have you no soul? Anyone can see it's the lunar crescent of wimminhood triumphing over the symbol of patriarchal oppression ;-)
Great shot, Warren.
Flick.
