It's a handicapped-parking symbol that's been painted over with black sealer, hence "former handicapped parking". When I post images on the web, I make them too light for a well-calibrated monitor, because a lot of people either have poor monitors or set them too dark for viewing images properly. So, Kim, if this looks too dark to you, I'm afraid your monitor is in dire need of adjustment! - Warren

This one is my favourite of the three. It works as an image on its own; even better in combo with the others Would make a super fine art print - Quentin

This image was a bit dark on my monitor, so I lightened it in photoshop for a closer look. There appears to be a shape drawn in the asphalt...I thought it looked like the arm of the Statue of Liberty, with the leaf as the glow of the flame. But no, it was not...it's simply a picture of pavement? I tried to find some meaning, really I did...! --Kim
