Billy began his NBL career in March 11 1979 and on March 20 2011, it came to end.
He won 16 consecutive Referee of the Year titles and has refereed in every NBL Grand Final series since 1987.
Billy refereed at 2 Olympic Games and 5 World Championships.
After 945 games on the NBL, he hangs his whistle up.

I met Bill back in 1992, at a Referees' Camp at Tatachilla (south of Adelaide). A top bloke and one that loved to share his knowledge of basketball refereeing. At that stage he hadn't refereed at the Olympics so it's great that he went on to ref at 2 of them. A great career.
