The Vigeland Park in Oslo is probably the biggest sculpture park with sculptures made only by one single man in the whole entire world . 80 acres (320.000 square meter) with 212 bronze and granite sculptures All made by and designed by Gustav Vigeland 1869-1943. The Vigeland Park is a part of an even bigger park named The Frogner Park. The most popular and famous sculpture is the One called "Sinnataggen" = Angry boy. Here In this series Pic. 81 and 97. This sculpture has been stolen and/or spoiled several times so it had to be repaired and I do believe that at least once they had to make a new one because they didn't find the stolen one. It has evwen been copied (not a good way) and sold illegal.
Gustav Vigeland is like the drama writer Henrik Ibsen and the painter Edvard Munch worldwide known as a Norwegian artist. Gustav Vigeland's brother Emanuel Vigeland was an artist as well, but never as famous as his older brother.
While living in Paris Gustav Vigeland for a while lived together with Edvard Munch. A story tells that they even shared a lady that they joined out on different decided days. One day Vigeland took the lady out on Munchs decided day and Munch became that angry that he took Vigelands latest work and smashed it in the floor så it became destroyed. Vigeland said:"Never mind, it wasn't that good anyway". From that day the two former friends became enemies for life. The story also tells that they were both invited to a party. Munch asked if Vigeland vas invited and they said yes. Vigeland asked if Munch vas invited and they answered yes. None of them came to that party. Munch lived not far from what we now know as the Vigeland Park and he built an high fence to avoid to see that big bunch of rocks as he called it.
The first 109 were shot 2011. From 110 to 191 are all shot in 2012 and they are mostly from the Monolith and surroundings. Most are random, but some are close to each other or versions of the same shot.
