DERBY, CT - At 3:09 a.m. on March 13, the Derby Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 385 New Haven Avenue near Derby-Milford Road. First in units reported heavy fire showing from a 100-year-old barn. According to Rob Novak, the executive director of the Derby Historical Society, the barn had Victorian architecture and was one of the last century-old barns left in the city. Engines 13, 14, 16, Truck 15, Rescue 18, Haz-Mat 19 and FD-10 responded to the blaze.
