BRIDGEPORT, CT – At approximately 6:30pm on December 13, the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to 25/27 Hunting Street for a reported house fire. First in Engine 12 found fire in the basement of a 2 ½ wood frame structure that quickly spread through the walls into the attic. Firefighters ended up chasing the fire throughout the structure in temperatures that reached into the teens. The fire that appeared to have been started by a faulty boiler brought 6 engine companies, 2 truck companies, 1 rescue, 1 battalion, 1 deputy, and the command unit. The owner of the house occupied the first floor of the structure, while the second floor remained vacant.
