HIGHLAND PARK, MI – On Ocotber 8, a Detroit box was sent out for a dwelling fire off of the John C. Lodge Service Drive. Upon arrival in the area, Detroit companies found a dwelling heavily involved in Highland Park, a small city landlocked within Detroit’s city lines. Since there is no formal mutual aid pact between the two cities, Highland Park was notified and arrived on scene to battle the blaze located at 399 Highland Street. The fire was raging throughout the two story wood frame occupied dwelling. All occupants had escaped unharmed, and watched as firefighters went to work at suppressing the flames and keeping them from involving the house located extremely close to the original fire building. As the fire died down, the exposure was successfully protected and never communicated to its interior.
