BRIDGEPORT, CT - On March 16, the Bridgeport Fire Department received a special gift from Laura and Mario Petroccia of the City’s North End. They donated $200 to the Cause for Paws campaign that supplies resuscitation masks fitted specifically for pets. The masks come in three sizes for large dogs, small dogs, and cats. Best Friends Pet Care out of Norwalk provided the masks for the department, as well as matched the Petroccia’s contribution. The masks were presented to the Bridgeport Fire Department and Chief of Department Brian Rooney at Fire Headquarters located at 30 Congress Street. Zero, a one-year-old German Shepherd, modeled the use of the mask for all in attendance, which included the Petroccia’s dog Rudy. Anyone interested in the Cause for Paws mask campaign can call Debra Bennetts, the Cause for Paws coordinator, at 203-846-4660, or go to http://www.bestfriendspetcare.org and click on the mask link.
