Route 8 Vehicle Fire (Shelton) 8/22/05

SHELTON, CT - A little after 5:00 p.m. on August 22, Shelton Fire Companies 1 and 3 were dispatched to Route 8 Northbound between Exits 12 and 13 for a vehicle fire. First units on scene found a fully involved Nissan Pathfinder in the breakdown lane. The fire tied up rush hour traffic for several minutes before being cleared.

I am becoming increasingly afraid of driving the GT through the "Car Fire" Capitol of America. I am afraid of it not making it out without catching fire.

I wanted to shoot the sign to show where on Route 8 the fire was...and just happened to get a special guest appearance by HUMMER. I should put it in the apparatus galleries. Ha! That rig will probably go to more fires than a lot of apparatus!
