If you are going to Alabama from Georgia and taking Highway GA-20 to AL-9 then to AL-35, keep your eye out on the left while on AL-35 about 10-15 miles up. If you cross over the river on a tall bridge you need to doubleback to get the close-up few, virtually down on the river at the top of the falls. After that go back over the bridge toward Fort Payne, AL on AL-35 and make the first left to detour down along the canyon road for numerous pull offs for some very breathe taking scenic fews. You will need turn around back up the canyon road to AL-35 to get to Desoto Park as the Canyon road leads well out of your way.

Most shots were all taken with a Tamron 17-35Di Lens using a B+W ND103 and B+W CP mounted on a Bogen 3021Pro tripod and using a Bogen 322RC2 Ball/Grip head. A few shots were hand held with 70-200L IS and 100-400L. The 2005 shots were 20D with 24-70L. Notice the difference in water flow! In 2004 I went 2 days after huge rains storms blew through, in 2005 it had not rained much the previous week or two.
