Western Sun

from the Vineyard again.
The building is a little lopsided-I'm always amazed to see it still standing.

For those asking, used the Midnight Sepia action on this--but had several copies of the image in different stages of the dodge/burn/erase stage and messed with blending modes including the default soft light, and also used lighten/darken/screen and overlay at various stages. Lightened in the direction from where the sun was coming from (and blown top of the original) to try to make it look like light rays. Thanks for asking.

Congratulations on 1st prize! This picture has been very inspirational to me - it is teasingly just out of reach for most of us - but we will keep trying!

Well done again. (Can I vote for it again?!)

Truly outstanding! I really like how their is a continuum between the manmade materials the decay and the natural elements - such a perfect blend. I will have to have a play at belending mode!

Such complex procedures, but you make it look so simple and convincing. It's as if you just walked by and snapped this lovely, well-lighted scene. Beautiful work.

Excellent. Great texture and color. Stone steps, fencing, cedar siding, fall leaves. Nice job. Gets my vote.

Just beautiful. I know that I would probably tire of raking leaves, but they are just so beautiful, even on the ground. Such a peaceful feeling to this image.
