Not at all what I had in mind when I started, the session took a life of it's own and 2 hours later I know somewhat more about working with 1 light than I did when I started. I'm amazed at the output even 1/2 power puts out.

The pick for today is below because I spent the day with family, under less than happy circumstances, I'm thankful for my immediate family, and my thoughts tonight and tomorrow are with Jayne, Fred and Kenny. Don't be a stranger, Fred :)

Canon EOS 20D
1/250s f/22.0 at 135.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I can well believe you got lost for 2 hours; funny how time just goes away behind the lens. Really fascinating shot -- leaves me recognizing the subject but not really sure which way is up and which is down (more so than usual, anyway!).
Tough times are what families are for; small comfort sometimes on the face of things, until you think of those who have none at all.

Looks like you've cracked the anti-gravity machine. Great image.

Neal got it right-rotate this 180, and the glass was set on a mirror with the egg on top. I got so excited playing with this :) Ok, I'll get a life....

PS work or shot on a mirror? Whatever it is, it's very intriguing.

Meant to confuse and you succeeded. I hope things are better soon.

How did you do that? I just tried balancing a glass on an egg and it was impossible. Seriously, neat PS work and image.

Very inventive! Nice to 'play' around for couple of hours - that's one of the magical results of digital you can see what does what straight away.

Very creative Karen...did you place identicals end to end the rotate your shot...I'm lousy at getting things right so I'm probably out by a mile on this. However you did it, you did good !! Hope things are more rosey tomorrow.

Interesting photo which is bending my brain. I like the composition and the delicate balance. I THINK I would like a bit more contrast but I am not fully decided on that. Sorry to hear that there are upsetting things that you are dealing with. Hang in there.
