13-JAN-2005 Day 11-without the Patch

It's probably been 2 solid weeks since I've spent more than 10 minutes at a stretch outside. Today it was warm, foggy and fabulous to get my feet wet stomping thru the snow. Supposed to be something like 60d at midnight tonight with even heavier fog; maybe I'll go sit on the front porch and pretend it's summer:)

Mmm. Lovely and moody. Almost looks like you had to get your feet wet for this one? - well worth it; the perspective's great. I really kind of like the headlights seen through the trees; it adds interest without being distracting.

Nice to see an 'outside' shot - and you're really winding up my kids.... SNOW!
Gary Winters15-Jan-2005 02:48
So this is snow, huh? Fascinating!
Elaine (etfitz)15-Jan-2005 02:39
Wonderful image! The B&W emphasizes the lines and curves!
Lisa Schlender15-Jan-2005 01:45
Ohhhh..I really like this, Karen.
B&W works really well...and so does the haze!

One look at this, and I thought: Road to Perdition. Nice one, Karen.

Great picture - I like the focal point and how you can't see if they're on this road.
Karen Stuebing14-Jan-2005 11:01
I like the curve of the road/walkway through this shot. Enjoy the warm weather while you can.
Jim B14-Jan-2005 10:04

Wow.. this is spectacular, Karen.. The winding, wet walkway (alliteration R us) wending it's way through the twees (sorry)... well seen..

Seems like lots of people have had warm, foggy weather today. Here it's clear as a bell and 11 below zero. Fahenheit. That's -24 C. This is a beautiful misty picture. Nice to go for a walk wearing your spring jacket. (Noticing day 11. Good!)

I love this Karen, I can just feel the moisture in the air, I love the B&W tone and the headlight of a car in the distance, nice moody picture.
Guest 14-Jan-2005 04:33
This is lovely!
Robin Reid14-Jan-2005 04:14

David Winge14-Jan-2005 03:54
Very very nice, I love the car in the background, great shot Karen.
Guest 14-Jan-2005 03:22
Lovely! It is amazingly similar to Snootydog's pad. What is that about great minds, etc.?
Beautiful composition.
petesie14-Jan-2005 03:20
I just came from commenting on Liza's PAD and she is right....amazing minds and eyes you two have. You both made beautiful images.
snootydog14-Jan-2005 03:15
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... have you seen my pad for today? If I hadn't cropped it to a square it might look exactly like this. Okay, well maybe not exactly like it, but very close. Nice photo Karen... the fog is amazing, isn't it?
Breland14-Jan-2005 03:11
Great composition of black and white and curves. How long will it take to melt Karen?
Guest 14-Jan-2005 03:08
Amazing photo, with great atmosphere. Literally! Perfectly composed, Karen!
Guest 14-Jan-2005 03:05
I love the stark contrast in this image. I also like how the headlights in the back draw your eye up the picture.

Steve Pepple14-Jan-2005 02:37
Nice, the black and white adds to the moodiness. The weather sure has been crazy.
Guest 14-Jan-2005 02:19
Lovely cold but yet mysterous composition Karen. The lights coming from the car added the mysterous effect for me.
This is a perfect b&w shot, love the lighting. GMV

A vote from me, while I pretend I'm somewhere cold.
Gayle P. Clement14-Jan-2005 02:13
This is so beautiful, Karen. I love the curves.
Guest 14-Jan-2005 02:12
Oh Karen, I did that last night! It was 66 yesterday, and the new porch I had built was finished yesterday (took 6 months!). I felt like the warm weather was special for me to enjoy the porch...if only for a night. Temp has now dipped to 20 with a few inches of snow...and a bit of ice to boot! Guess we'll both have to wait a bit before we really get to spring/summer porch weather!

Karen you have mastered your new camera so beautifully. Love that gleaming path. Both it & those car lights lead you to view what's through those trees...voting !
Susanne14-Jan-2005 01:52
Pretty image, I like the fog and the snow in this image. It looks cold, just like winter should look like.
