The Vineyard-Sword Boat, Rigging

Rigging on the sword boat, Unicorn, Menemsha. Not much done to this, a little levels and some sharpening, but thought it was rather dramatic, as is.

It's been a few weeks since I've been down to the island; I keep forgetting how it can soothe the most restless of souls. Hoping that the survivors and families of the victims from 9/11 will too find a sense of peace.

A milestone: the odometer in the camera turned over 10,000 today. Yikes! Guess it's time to start deleting and backing up some of the older files.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/1614s f/9.0 at 28.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I really like these sorts of photos. A network or pattern against a background. They are flat and not. This one is quite effective because the tracery is so complex and the lines are different weights, thicknesses. And of course that sky behind helps too.

Definitely perfect as is. And it does give a feeling of peace or stability.

10,000? You've been doing some shooting. :)

Wow! 10,000! You're quite the shutterbug. How can you tell how many shots you've taken?? I guess I am clueless! LOL

Nice comp today, Karen, and nice tribute, too.

Wow, what a great capture. I love all the lines, and the sky is just amazing. I still have a problem with blowing out my skies :(

Also, congrats on 10,000 shots! I'm around the 6,300 mark. Imagine how many rolls of film that would be!

That is beautiful Karen. Just to sail away from all the troubles of the world....wouldn't it be nice * sigh * Having had our Australian Embassy bombed in Jakata this week has brought it all very much to the surface again, though Sept 11 will never be forgotten nor will the threats we face daily we will however continue to sing...we shall overcome...!!

Herb, no b/w conversion. Was shooting A/V, didn't notice the shutter at 1/1614. Didn't know it went that high. Shots later in the roll with a normal exposure came out ok. It's wierd.

Looks good in b/w.
10000!! I thought I was bad but just turned 5300 today.
