Algonquin Provincial Park if the largest and more famous Ontario parks. It's a very large park, totaling something like 7700 square kilometers. The large majority of the park is totally undeveloped (now) and only reachable by backpacking trails or by canoe. The shear number of canoes routes is amazing: over 2000 Km in a very extensive network of connected routes (some portage required ;-). In the souther park of the park there is a short developed 56 Km strip along Highway 60. Trails, campgrounds and lodges are available in that part of the park.
This gallery is from a short 3 days trip at the beginning of August 2004. We stayed outside the park (it was a long weekend and all the campgrounds inside the park were fully booked) and went in daily for a series of short ( ~ 10 Km) hikes
I live just outside the park, have worked there and visit often. Your images are very lovely and bring me a fresh appreciation of that loved and familiar place. Thank-you.
Claudio, although I've seen this gallery some time ago, I just keep coming back to have a look or two. Thank you for sharing those shots. Gets a 'v' from me ;)

Beautiful gallery, Claudio! I enjoyed each and every image. I'm putting this on my "places I must visit someday" list!
