The GT 500 Shelby Mustang was introduced in 1967, and ran through the 1970 model year, although the 1970 models were actually re-VIN numbered '69 models, as Shelby pulled out of the program sometime prior. The GT-500's all had the 428, and there was even a special version called the GT-500KR which ostensibly stood for "King of the Road."
