The Ford Bronco was introduced as a 1966 model, intended to directly compete with the Jeep CJ5. Ford eventually offered the 289 V-8, followed by the 302 V-8, making the Bronco interesting.
1977 was it's last year in it's original configuration, it was followed by the Bronco II, and eventually was built on a large frame to directly compete with the Chevy Blazer.
