Are you related to the Mrs. Beck who was assistant principal at school 66? Can't remember her first name.

It was my pleasure to spend 25 years as Principal of School 8 - 1966-1991.In 1966 it had a student body of more than 1200 students. In 1976 it became the Follow Through Magnet School and enrolled students from all Buffalo neighborhoods. We gained a reputation for our nuturing learning climate. Parents of the student body were hired to work as aides in classrooms. The school is now closed to neighborhood students, but is a transition school for students whose buildings are being renovated. The first School 8 was built in 1838 and was built as the first free school in Buffalo. The current building has unique architecture.
