Seymour H. Knox Sr. was a business partner of Frank W. Woolworth, and they founded the chain of five and dime stores, under the Woolworth and Knox names.
Seymour H. Knox Jr. was the art collector who donated his collection to the Albright Gallery, and donated the money needed to expand the gallery, resulting in its' renaming to Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
Seymour H. Knox III was successful in the financial world, and was the original owner of the Buffalo Sabres Hockey Club, bringing NHL hockey to Buffalo in 1970.
