I had the pleasure of riding behind 765 when she visited Buffalo in July of 1989. She's owned by the Ft. Wayne (IN) RR Historical Society and is still operable today. I'm also a lifetime member of the NKP Historical & Technical Society. NKP was absorbed into the Norfolk & Western in 1964 and the N&W later merged with the Southern to become Norfolk Southern. NS still operates the ex-NKP main line from Buffalo through Cleveland to Chicago, but it hasn't seen an operating steam locomotive for many years.
