1964 was a great year for Pontiac. They introduced two new performance cars, the GTO in the Tempest line, and the Catalina 2+2 in the full size line. The 2+2 ran from 1964 through 1967, and was always performance oriented. In 64, it's standard engine was a 389, with three optional 421's. In 65 and 66, only 421's were available. In its' final year, 1967, it had a 428.
