Engine 19 has operated out of these quarters since 1887. This station covers the Buffalo State College, Buffalo Psychiatric Center, Elmwood Village, as well as the West Side.
Engine 19's style of architecture was popular at the time and many of the early department houses were modeled like it. Engine 19 will not be closing, at least not in the foreseeable future. Although, she has been another rumored "cut" in the distant future. Hopefully for the sake of hoping, it's just a rumor.
