I attended public school, but was released early on Tuesdays to attend religious instructions. I remember the lay teachers being very mean to us. Also, Father O'Connor who was as old as Moses was very mean. He also had very bad breath that would make an onion cry! He asked me a question about the Trinity which I had a problem answering because I was so scared of him. He then proceeded to hit me. When I told my dad about it, he said I no longer had to attend. O'Connor surely did not possess the love of God. I never understood his anger.

I went to All Saints School and graduated in 1952. I think we all received a great elementary education there; wonderful nuns and teachers. I remember the church as being beautiful in it's simplicity.

I remember singing in the High Mass at 11:00 a.m. - Latin Mass. I also remember my mom going to card parties in the church hall and my friends and I playing hide and seek in the dark at the school while our mothers played cards. It was so much fun...

This church is still operating. The school was closed a few years ago. I also attended this school in the late 50's & early 60's Wonderful school

I recently heard that this church is no longer in operation. I hope that isn't true, because it once had an active and strong congregation. I graduated from All Saints School in 1959. My parents gave me a choice early on between public and parochial schooling, and I made the right choice. The excellent educational foundation I received in this working-class community (a rare occurrence even then) made me revere as well as enjoy lifelong learning---an attitude that has spared me much grief and afforded me incalculable satisfaction and pleasure over the years. Long live dedicated and right-minded teachers!

This was the church where I was baptized & went to First Communion. It seemed so large to me as a child & when I revisited a few years ago, I was surprised to see how small it was.
