Central Presbyterian Church

Main and Jewitt, Buffalo, NY

This congregation was originally located downtown, at Genesee and Pearl. It moved to it's present location in 1912, when it's original building was demolished to make way for the Majestic Theater.

The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable in the history of the church, and in the basement is a small photo gallery with historical photos, and of special interest are photos of this building's expansion.

other sizes: small medium original

I'd like to see pictures of the bldg expansion,.during which the Main St side wall was detatched, and moved intact , to accomodate construction. The reason was because the window could not be removed without damage, so the entire wall was moved. A local construction company used a picture of it on letterheads. J.Carleton
