Maybe 10 or 11 years ago I was taking a leisure drive along the Welland Canal when I spotted a rusted hulk of what looked like a ship off in a side area. I stopped and upon closer inspection, could hardly make out the name on it. Must to my dismay, it read "Canadiana". My heart sunk seeing it in that condition. As a younger fellow in the late 40's and early 50 's, I had the pleasure and enjoyment of taking that ship to Crystal Beach several times. It was always a fascinating trip. I remember after it was taken out of service that it had been in the Cleveland, Ohio area, was sunk, refloated and returned to Buffalo where a group called "Friends Of The Canadiana" were very positive about restoring it to it's former beauty. Unfortunately, those plans had come to an end and the welders torch was inevitable. Thanks so much for capturing these final photos, as I was mad at myself for not having my camera with me that day.
