Shea's Buffalo Theater

For a city that will make the wrong decision if given a choice; one wonders how this one slipped through.

I saw two Alfred Hitchcock movies at the Shaes when they first came out, "North By Northwest" in September of 1959 and "Psycho" in the summer of 1960. Great memories! Thanks for taking the time to make these photos available!

Shea's Buffalo, the Hippodrome, great theaters! I remember in the early 40's as a lad of 11 years going to see the Spike Jones "orchestra" at the Buffalo...I sat thru the orchestra's performance three times! and had to watch the movie twice...'came home late for dinner, Mom and Dad getting ready to call the police...I was grounded for the rest of the week, ...but went back to see the Spike Jones revue the next year. My taste in music at age 74 has not improved much from those early years...

On August 25, 1965 I was at the Sheas at 8:30 AM to see the first showing of the movie "HELP" by the Beatles. I saw it 5 more times that day.

You are so right ("...a city that will make the wrong decision if given a choice"). I live in Niagara Falls, which is actually worse. I was at the theater a while back, and it really is quite nice. Great collection of photos!
