You and I make almost the same shot, here, Kathy. The responses are identical. Your shot makes good use of both people -- it is a dual portrait. In my image athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/95787971, I use the background man as context, which puts greater stress on the guy in front. I also use spot metering on the white shirt to make the shadows darker, adding a touch of age and mystery to the image. And I choose a horizontal frame which abstracts them by showing less.
